Re_Thrindle

Photography and Videography

Re_Thrindle hosts repair and upcycling workshops in Bristol to help revive our connection to clothing. I documented moments from one of Re_Thrindle's colourful sashiko workshops, inspired by a Japanese folk embroidery style that embraces visible mending.

Bringing slow fashion to life

After connecting at a slow fashion panel discussion, I provided photography and video for Re_Thrindle during the very infancy of the independent business, situated in the sustainable Sparks department store.

From this experience, I learnt that mended garments are like artworks we can wear; in a society that so often values consumerism and disposability, textile repair is a radical act.
