Organised by Stop Rosebank Bristol, Prosebank is a gathering of spoken word from artists and activists, centered around environmental and social justice.
The Stop Rosebank movement
Rosebank is the UK’s biggest undeveloped oil and gas field. Its climate pollution would be greater than the combined annual CO2 emissions of all 28 low-income countries in the world - a devastating project that would push us closer to parts of our world becoming uninhabitable.
The Stop Rosebank campaign demands an end to new oil and gas, with a just transition to clean energy that prioritises community and justice.
The power of spoken word
Through the Prosebank event, Stop Rosebank Bristol brought together local writers, poets and spoken word artists for a series of powerful evenings centred around environmentalism and the climate crisis.
The performances demonstrated the ways in which the written word can help us make sense of the climate crisis, as well as offering an emotional outlet and response to the threats it poses.
